This place is paradise, home away from home, the perfect spot; just call it whatever you want all I know is that I had the best holiday in this place. The place exhibits this ambience and everything here was majestic. The architectural designs inside the building left me breathless, such perfection and beauty. The place had like a retro feeling, like you are in a museum because the whole place was filled with art work and it was beautiful. First of all, Puerto Plata is a nice place to visit and this hotel located in it is n added bonus. The rooms are elegant, large and of course clean but it was simple that was the beauty of it all, I mean itís not an all inclusive hotel but it was great. My room had an amazing view of the pond so waking up to that view just lightened up my day. The balcony was great so I would always sit there and just look around before going about my normal day. There was wireless connection in the rooms but it was weak but I could get it out on the balcony. The beach was peaceful and quiet; it was fantastic as I didnít want a crowded beach so this did the trick for me. I usually just joined friends there to walk on the beach and enjoy the wind. There is a mall close to the Casa where you could go shopping and there are a couple of restaurants within walking distance where I usually ate from, they are all nice.

Casa Colonial is one of the top five hotels I have been to. Overall, an amazing experience and strongly recommend it! You will compare every other hotel in the world to its standards. We will be back next year!

Arrival:
Private one on one check in. You know you are in for a treat from the moment you arrive.

Rooms:
~Room - beds are amazing, bathroom has shower and big tub for two.I recommend oceanfront rooms - great for coffee on the terrace in the mornings and listening to the water breaking shore, and sipping wine in the evenings.

Restaurants and Bars:
~Food - delicious, plenty of selection in both restaurants. Roof top pool bar is the only one like it I have ever seen.

Beach/Pools/Grounds:
~Beach - very comfy lounge beds and umbrellas, towels provided at beach
~Pool - hands down the best infinity pool in the Caribbean, located on the roof overlooking the ocean with 4 private jacuzzis...

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel:
~Special treats - private romantic dinner at the beach for two is so private and romantic. And couple massage - the spa is its own oasis.

Last year I was looking to book a romantic trip to the Dominican Republic with my partner so we did some research on where to stay. We were looking for a resort that was beautiful, on the beach and had delicious restaurants and spa treatments. Casa Colonial Beach & Spa absolutely met all of our qualifications, so we booked our flight!
We absolutely fell in love with the gorgeous colonial architecture and the sandy beaches of Playa Dorada.
From the moment we arrived we were treated as if we were royalty. The staff was always very attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed.
We had romantic brunches on our balcony, dinner for two on the beach and relaxed by the pool and beach for the rest of the day.
While my partner was out golfing during the afternoon I stayed behind and had the hot stone massage and salt and gem exfoliation which were both wonderful! You can even book to have your spa treatment in the gazebo in front of the water.

We stayed in the deluxe ocean view suite which I highly recommend. It had a spacious balcony, roman style bathtub and even has 24- hour room service which is always a big plus!

Overall, we absolutely loved our 5 night stay in Casa Colonial and would highly recommend it for a romantic getaway!

Restaurants and Bars:
The on site restaurant Lucia was delicious and has a great view of the mangrove lagoon. They are well known for their award winning chef!

Beach/Pools/Grounds:
They have a couple of Jacuzzis, the rooftop pool which has an absolutely gorgeous view of the bay and the beach downstairs.

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel:
They have Spa treatments and full gym on the resort. They have private transportation to the 18-hole golf course.
